What you need to know

• COVID-19 spreads very easily from person to person

• COVID-19 vaccines and safe and effective. Being vaccinated lowers your chance of getting very sick or dying.

• These symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus:

  • Fever or chills

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Fatigue/tiredness

  • Muscle or body aches

  • Headache

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Sore throat

  • Congestion or runny nose

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Diarrhea

How to protect yourself

• Stay up to date on your COVID-19 vaccines

• Stay home and get tested if you are sick

• Call your doctor if you test positive, there are medicines that may help you if taken quickly

• Avoid crowded places and stay 6 feet away from others

• Avoid places with poor air flow

• Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use a 60% or greater alcohol-based hand sanitizer, if soap and water are not available

• Clean frequently touched surfaces

• Learn about how you can cope with stress.
