Flu season is here
Influenza (flu) cases are increasing in Lincoln County, MO.
As of December 19th, there have been 633 cases reported to the Health Department. This is an increase from 255 cases on November 25th.
It’s important to know that we only get reports of flu if someone is sick enough to go to the doctor. This means that the true number of flu cases in the community is likely higher.
Symptoms of the flu include:
Fever
Head and body aches
Coughing
A stuffy or runny nose
Sore throat
Tiredness or feeling run down
Last flu season (2024-2025) a total of 2,007 cases were reported to our local Health Department. About 90% of those cases reported either “no flu shot” or “unknown” (65% and 25%).
You can protect yourself and others from sickness by:
Washing your hands regularly
Having good air flow indoors

Staying home if you’re feeling sick
