2019 Flu Season Update
Flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and sometimes the lungs.
The 2018-2019 flu season has been the longest on record (10 years), but it is slowing down. Typically, flu season peaks between December and February.
As of 5/1/19, there have been 842 confirmed cases of flu in Lincoln County so far. This is less than last year, when there was 931 confirmed cases by 3/13/18.
Flu vaccination every year is the best way to prevent against the flu.
