COVID-19 Weekly Update 1/13/2022

Lincoln County, Missouri is adding about 189 COVID-19 cases per day. At the end of December, that number was about 86 cases per day. In the beginning of November, that number was about 23 cases per day. We added a record number of cases on January 5th- 214 cases. This number is subject to change as additional test results continue to come in.

As a reminder, if you test positive for COVID-19 you should notify your close contacts as soon as possible. This helps to stop the chain of transmission in the community. Close contact refers to anyone who you were within 6 feet of for more than 15 minutes over a 24-hour period (2 days before symptoms started until your positive test).

The St. Louis Metropolitan Pandemic Task Force is reporting a high number of pediatric hospitalizations due to COVID-19 in the region. As of today, there are 50 pediatric hospitalizations with 10 of those in the ICU. At this time last week, there were 60 pediatric hospitalizations. The week previous, there were 28.

The Pandemic Task Force is also reporting a record number of adult daily admissions and hospitalizations. Because of this, the pandemic task force reported that visitors to hospitals have been restricted in many cases, and elective procedures are being delayed at many hospitals.


The 7-day PCR positivity rate for Lincoln County is 30.9%.

Free COVID-19 PCR testing sponsored by DHSS will change locations on Wednesdays through January in Winfield to the First Baptist Church parking lot.

Cases per 100,000 in Lincoln County are at 1,540, up from 925 last week. In order to move to the next lowest transmission category, this number need to be less than 100.  In order to be in the lowest category, that number needs to be under 10.

Our number of active cases (individuals who are in isolation for COVID-19 infection) is at 1404,. Last week this number was at 858. This is a record number of individuals in isolation for Lincoln County.

10-19: 6.31% increase

20-29: 9.77% increase

30-39: 7.07% increase

40-49: 7.13% increase

50-59: 8.08% increase

60-69: 5.28% increase

70-79: 7.61% increase

80+: 14.14% increase
