Weekly COVID-19 Update 9/24/2021

 

Lincoln County, Missouri continues to see a high number of new COVID-19 cases daily. We are currently adding an average of 48 COVID-19 cases per day in Lincoln County.

In June, we added about 99 cases

In July we added about 472 cases

In August we added about 951 cases

So far in September, we have added 833 cases.

At the current pace, we are projected to have more cases in September than August.

DHSS is sponsoring a testing site on Wednesdays in Winfield throughout the months of September and October. Hours will change slightly beginning in October, moving to 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently approved booster doses for certain groups who are already fully vaccinated with Pfizer. 41% of active COVID-19 cases are in the ages of 0-18. Last week this number was 45%. This age group makes up 27% of the total population in Lincoln County.


The 7-day PCR positivity rate is 12.2%, at this time last week it was 14.0%. At it’s highest, this number was 15.5% about a month ago. Cases per 100,000 in Lincoln County are at 388, up from 441 last week. When we started the month of August, this number was 264. In order to be considered a community with low transmission, this number should be less than 10. Our number of active cases (individuals who are in isolation for COVID-19 infection) is at 284. Last week this number was at 342 and when we started the month of August, this number was at 192.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 77 deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Lincoln County. The age distribution is as follows:

30-39: 2

40-49: 1

50-59: 7

60-69: 14

70-79: 19

80+: 34

The Lincoln County Health Department strongly encourages individuals to take precautions to prevent getting or spreading COVID-19. Please get vaccinated, wear a mask indoors in public, improve air flow, and get tested if you are having symptoms. LCHD has daytime COVID-19 vaccine clinics every week day. We also have evening vaccine clinic appointments available in September. Our evening clinics run until 7 p.m. The remaining date is:
