Full-Scale Public Health Exercise

  • Lincoln County Fairgrounds Troy, MO 63379 (map)

Please join us Wednesday, October 9, 2019 for a full-scale medication dispensing exercise. This exercise is part of a larger regional exercise to test our ability to dispense life-saving medication after a large-scale bio-terrorism attack. Lincoln County Health Department will conduct a point-of-dispensing (POD) exercise to simulate handing-out pills to the general public who may have been "exposed" to a biological agent.

We are in need of volunteers to participate as either POD workers or "patients" in order to test our ability to provide medication to the population of Lincoln County during public health emergencies. Anyone is welcome to participate. You can register for a free ticket for the position that you would like to participate as, and see a brief description of the role.

The exercise will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will run for approximately an hour and a half. Those who sign-up as a POD worker, please arrive at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds building by 10:00 am for an overview of your role and the facility. Those who sign-up as a "patient", please arrive by 10:30 a.m. for check-in. The parking and/or drop-off area will be marked with signs.

Immediately after the exercise, a brief Hot Wash (discussion) will take place with the POD workers and other partners. Lunch will be provided.

If you have questions regarding volunteering at the Lincoln County Point of Dispensing exercise please contact Genevieve Weseman at (636) 528-6117 ext. 408 or by email at Genevieve.Weseman@lchdmo.org.
