We are in need of volunteers to collaborate with the Region C Medical Reserve Corps and train to discuss NAS prevention, medication safety, and promote the Movement on Medication Safety Toolkit (MOMS). Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) is a group of conditions caused when a baby suffers withdrawal from certain drugs they are exposed to in the womb before birth. The Region C Medical Reserve Corps has created a rapid response team to aid in community and prescriber education and increase conversations in the community around this topic.
This training will review the current state of the opioid epidemic locally and regionally, and discuss efforts to promote health education to women to prevent NAS and promote Medication Safety.
Please join our efforts to decrease the number of babies affected by rising opioid use before and during pregnancy, and increase the health of MOMS and babies everywhere!
